SVF Cinemas becomes the second largest multiplex chain in WB by adding 9 more new screens at different locations for the festive season

Kolkata, 9^th October 2021: SVF Cinemas becomes the second largest multiplex chain of West Bengal by adding 9 new screens to its existing chain of plexes, this festive season, at different locations across Bengal.

The multiplex chain that has been scouting every corner of West Bengal for expansion and offering unforgettable movie watching experience to the audience, launches new screens at Durgapur, Chinsura, Dhaniakhali and Coochbehar by upgrading existing single screen properties. With this addition, SVF Cinemas currently operates with 25 screens across 14 properties in Bengal itself.

All the 9 new screens will be launched at various locations by the beginning of the festive season. SVF Cinemas, that has made a significant mark by tapping into the potential markets of Tier I & Tier II cities of Bengal, primarily focusing on the changing trends of cinema and audience consumption habits. In this whole new digital world, SVF Cinemas believes in the preservation of the unreplaceable big screen magic which has thereby led to the decision of revamping existing single screen properties at prime locations for a wider reach and easy accessibility. The majority of the new properties are opened at very close proximity to the centre, especially at and around popular shopping malls or retail stores, to make cinemas as accessible as possible. With the changing taste of cinema loving audience, SVF Cinemas is redefining the way movies are showed in Bengal.

Following are the details of the new properties:

• Durgapur: Brand New 3 Screens with 416 seats at Raj Sammilonee Shopping Mall in Benachiti. Existing single screen property Anuradha Cinemas reconstructed to retail and cinema property. Alongside SVF Cinemas, the mall includes Spencers as their anchor store and a huge food court.
• Chinsurah: SVF Cinemas opens their gates with 3 screens and 367 seats at KPS Mall in the district of Chinsurah. The Chinsurah property of SVF Cinemas is a reconstruction of ‘Milan Cinema.’
• Dhaniakhali: Iconic single screen, Rupani Cinema, in the district of Hooghly, revamped by its developers (KPS Group) and will now run as SVF Cinemas and has 1 screen.
• Coochbehar: After Jalpaiguri, SVF Cinemas builds their second property in North Bengal at Coochbehar. The Coochbehar property is located at PRM City Centre 1 which includes 2 screens with 292 seating capacity

All the aforementioned properties of SVF Cinemas to have BookMyShow as exclusive ticketing partner. Ticket booking in both online and offline mode has been enabled in all of the properties to ensure the convenience of the visitors.

In order to pursue its organic growth, SVF pumped in Rs 8-10 crores rupees for the new initiative and is planning to invest up to Rs 5-7 crores more by 31st March, FY 2022, for further new screens. Besides eyeing business expansion at every possible town and cities of Bengal, SVF Cinemas is also foraying into the North East Indian Market as it plans to launch its first property (outside Bengal) at Tejpur.

All set to launch during Diwali this year, the luxurious Tejpur property of SVF Cinemas opens its door for Assam with 2 screens and 350 seating. Located at G Square Mall in Tejpur, this property marks the beginning of SVF Cinemas’ market expansion plan outside Bengal.

• The Power of Sound & Projection: All the properties of SVF Cinema comes with the best designed 7.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound System with 2K & 3D projection to provide a rich and flagship cinema viewing experience to the audience.
• Food & Beverages: Along with Food & Beverages counters, SVF Cinemas also introduces their exclusive in-house café called 35mm Café. The concept of 35mm Café is to provide a rich dining ambience to the customers with a touch of cinema.
• Other facilities: In order to ensure a safe movie watching experience for the audienc, all touchpoints to be santinized and coated by Chemtex-anti-microbial along with regular Aerial Fumigation.
