Shrikant Mohta, is the creative muscle of SVF Entertainment and has over 135 SVF film productions to his credit. These films include 5 National Award winners and various blockbusters of the last two decades. He is also the key driver of original content creation for SVF Entertainment’s latest venture – it’s very own OTT platform – Hoichoi.
Nationally and Internationally acclaimed ‘Chokher Bali’ produced by him cut across language barriers and became one of the finest crossover films from Eastern India winning three National Awards, including Best Feature Film in Bengali (2005) for SVF (then ‘Shree Venkatesh Films’). This was followed by SVF’s debut Bollywood production, ‘Raincoat’, which again went on to win SVF the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi (2005), along with Chitrangada (Special Jury Award/Special Mention, 2013) and Chotoder Chobi (Best Film on Social Issues, 2015) later on.
He is the President of Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA), and an active member of Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC).
Shrikant has helped give unabated impetus to the Bengali Film Production world. He is credited with introducing superior technical workmanship, launching new talent and availing the best labs in the country for post-production. He initiated the shooting of Bengali Films abroad, cutting no corners and showcasing films with the best visual effects. Known to possess stellar creative skills for producing rich and unique content, with a sound understanding of the Indian ethos and the requirements of today’s audiences, Shrikant can rightly judge the viewers’ pulse.
Mahendra Soni, heads Films, Television, Distribution, Cinemas and Music businesses of SVF Entertainment. Having produced over 135 Bengali films till date, 5 of them National Award winners and scores of them Filmfare, Centenary Award, YouTube’s Silver Button, Silver Peacock and Golden Leopard awardees, he has made a mark for the company not just in east India, but nationally too.
Under his leadership, SVF Entertainment has distributed almost 1500 films including blockbusters like ‘Simmba’, ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Andhadhun’, ‘Sanju’, ‘Avengers – Infinity War’, ‘Black Panther’, ‘Padmaavat’, ‘Coco’, ‘Baby Driver’, ‘Neerja’, ‘Dangal’, ‘La La Land’, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’, ‘Sultan’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Kapoor & Sons’, ‘Revenant’, ‘Airlift’, ‘Drishyam’, ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, ‘Dabangg’, ‘Ghajini’, ‘My Name Is Khan’, among many others.
On the Television front, Mahendra Soni has turned Music India, Sangeet Bangla and Sangeet Bhojpuri into leading Channels within their respective segments, with his understanding of the audience. Under his aegis, SVF has produced over 10000 hours of TV content – 8000 Episodes – with shows like ‘Potol Kumar Gaanwala’, ‘Bhutu’, ‘Mahanayak’, ‘Maa’, ‘Bojhena Shey Bojhena’, ‘Goenda Ginni’, ‘Gopal Bhar’ and ‘Jai Kaali Kalkattawali’ (airing/aired on Colors Bangla, Zee Bangla and Star Jalsha), becoming household names.
He is an active member of Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA), Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC). Having developed strong relationships with all factions of the industry, Mahendra also drives satellite and music syndication deals, along with film acquisitions. He plays a key role in significant business associations for SVF, across all divisions.
Vishnu Mohta, joined Shree Venkatesh Films in 2007, as the head of the Digital Cinema business. After making it the largest player in West Bengal and fourth largest network in India within a year of operations, Vishnu now heads the New Media division of SVF Entertainment. He just launched its first venture, Hoichoi, the one stop destination for Bengali entertainment – movies, songs and originals – under his aegis, targeting 220 million Bengalis globally.
Vishnu has worked with KPMG in Risk Advisory and Lloyds TSB in Corporate Strategy in their London offices, in the past. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Bond University Australia and MSc in International Business from Aston University Birmingham, UK.
Armed with an exceptional ability for identifying solutions to entrenched problems, helping to collaborate with a solution centric approach across all levels, he has built long lasting profitable business relationships.
Vishnu is a member of prestigious organizations including Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) and The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE). He is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS), a society of top 10% students from the best B schools of the world. It is the highest recognition a business student, anywhere in the world, can receive in a business program accredited by AACSB International.
