hoichoi’s first female detective franchise- Damayanti had a good run during Pujas!

Kolkata, 4th November 2020:  The new detective crime thriller series of hoichoi, Damayanti, had good viewership during Pujas. The series had begun streaming all of its episodes on the platform from 30^th October. The first part of the series was released on 22^nd of October, receiving a great and positive response from the audience. People have thoroughly appreciated the show and had waited eagerly for the second and final part to release. hoichoi and the makers of the series were elated to announce on Tuesday that Damayanti was one among the most watched show of the platform during Pujas.

Directed by Aritra Sen and Rohan Ghosh and featuring Tuhina Das as the lead, alongside Indrashish Ray, Shoumo Banerjee, Chandreyee Ghosh and Amrita Chattopadhyay, Damayanti is hoichoi’s first female detective franchise. ‘Damayanti’ is the story of a bright, young professor of History who has a curious mind and a knack for solving mysteries. While spending a holiday with her husband (played by the very-talented Indrashish) in Bolpur, Damayanti gets herself involved with the police in solving a case. She is portrayed to be a character who is independent, smart, energetic and is capable of solving crimes with her phenomenally sharp intuition and deductive skills.  In this endeavor she is often aided by her husband Samaresh and his police friend, Siben Sen. The series is based on Manoj Sen’s famous writing “Rohoshyo Shondhani Damayanti”.  And among the other successful detective franchise like Byomkesh, Feluda, Eken Babu or Goyenda Gogol; Damayanti has definitely stood upright and made its way through the minds of the Bengali audience. With a tight characterization and suspenseful mysteries, the web series have kept the viewers on their edges thereby receiving overwhelming positive feedback from the audience.
