    Apr 28, 2019 Publication : allaboutbanglacinema

Horror movies and horror stories have always been a favourite for Bengalis. But surprisingly bengali horror movies have not received good enough response in recent past. Maybe that is the reason that most of the film makers of current generation have excused themselves from this genre. But now there is a good news for horror movie lovers, Shree Venkatesh Films is ready to release their new horror movie titled as Bhoot Chaturdashi.

The story has been written by director Mainak Bhaumik who himself is a fan of horror movies. But Mainak is not directing the film, the film has been directed by Shabbir Mallick who is making his directorial debut with this film. Earlier he had assisted Mainak Bhaumik on some films. Just like the director the lead cast also belongs from the next generation. The four leads are Aryann Bhowmik, Ena Saha, Deepsheta and Soumendra. None of them are facing camera for the first time but all are comparatively new faces. Aryann has acted in many movies in supporting cast and mostly popular for playing Santu in Srijit Mujherji’s Kakababu movies. Ena Saha has also done some bit roles in movies and she is also a popular face in social media. Soumendra has acted in the movie Ludo directed by Q and has also worked in popular web series. Deepsheta is a popular VJ on a TV channel and she is making her feature film debut with Bhoot Chaturdashi.

The trailer of the film has been released on digital platforms. It shows the story of four young friends. They decided to go on a road trip to make a documentary. During their road trip they experienced some unwanted supernatural incidents. The trailer has all the required elements to make you scared. Some spooky shots, well created visual effects, eerie background score. Also there is a good thing about the subject that the story is based on the folklore related to Bengal, the concept is not copied from any western horror movie.

Watch the trailer of Bhoot Chaturdashi and get ready to have a spine chilling experience in theaters from May 17th.
