Dhrubo Banerjee posted this on social media: ‘The music of Durgeshgarher Guptodhon is indeed something to watch out for …. Thanks Bickram’da for all the energy you infused in the score. It’s been an unforgettable musical journey that took us almost a month and you so creatively addressed all my thoughts and interpretations of this film…Subhendu with his amazing lyrics, our super cool singers Monomoy’da, Imon, Somchanda and explosive Nirmalya… our super talented musicians and of course Somik & Sayan… Dalia & Dipayan too…Its truly turning into a magnum cinematic experience (sic)’
The director, who feels the music of Durgeshgarher Guptodhon is special, said, “In Guptodhoner Sandhane, there was only one song, and that too a Rabindrasangeet. But in Durgeshgarher Guptodhon, we have multiple songs. The central figure of this film is Ma Durga so the chanting related to her is used all through the film. Rather, we have made chanting a musical statement in our film. I am sure that the audience will talk about this musical signature,” said the director.
He added, “Working with Bickramda is fun. And we exactly know what we want from each other. The background score and song recording took a month and we used to spend at least 10 hours together each day to develop the music. But I am happy that the music has shaped up well. Almost no sound used in the film is keyboard generated, as we have used live musicians for the soundtrack. I hope the audience will appreciate and love the music of Durgeshgarher Guptodhon.”
