SVF and hoichoi celebrate womanhood in a unique manner!

Kolkata, 8th March, 2019: SVF’s upcoming film, Mon Jaane Na deals with women trafficking, forceful drug abuse along with prostitution which drives a simple family apart. To highlight the consequences of such predominant issues in the society, SVF brought the lead cast of the film – Mimi Chakraborty and Yash to talk about this. The rest of the cast and crew members namely, Rajdeep Gupta, Raj Barman, Dabbu, Lincon and more were present to showcase the trailer and spoke about women power.

To describe the real-life tragedy of those who had to overcome similar obstacles, SVF invited and felicitated 5 such brave-heart women who are survivors of trafficking, exploitation, abuse and violence. They talked about how they had to reinstate their self-confidence, self-esteem, self-worth, awareness, acceptance and discover the love for their own selves, again. How they finally asserted their rights.

Astey Ladies is one such women-centric content which is about three women who resort to crazy means to mend their monetary problems.

Shagufta Rafique, the director of Mon Jaane Na, is a famous Bollywood screenplay and script writer, well known for acclaimed films like Aashiqui 2, Awarapan, Woh Lamhe, Raaz 2 and more. This film marks her debut as a director. The story of the film is synonymous to her life.

Amir (Played by Yash) is a young, lonely guy who earns his living through taxi driving. Seeing him companionless, his friend advises him to get married in order to have a stable life partner. Hence, Amir seeks help from the local maulvi who introduces him to a shy, orphan girl Pari (Played by Mimi). He falls in love with her at first sight and they get married. Soon after marriage, Pari comes across certain secrets of Amir and she goes missing. For 2 years, Amir frantically searches her throughout the city bring a taxi driver. One day he discovers her outside a hotel in an unconscious state. However, Pari is no longer her demure self but has transformed into a reckless drug addict and gone into prostitution. Who is responsible for this crisis? What happened to her? Will Amir be able to bring back his wife to her old self and discover the people responsible for her condition? All questions will be answered this Holi.
