Jio Studios and SVF Entertainment Unveil Trailer for "Athhoi," A Modern Interpretation of Shakespearean Drama- Othello The film is slated to grace the silver screen on June 14th! “Truths are illusions of which we have forgotten that they are illusions” --- Nietzsche Kolkata, June 06th, 2024 – Jio Studios and SVF Entertainment have released the highly anticipated Trailer for "Athhoi," just one week ahead of the film's premiere. The trailer offers an enigmatic glimpse into the human heart and society, promising a captivating cinematic experience. "Athhoi" captures the essence of Shakespeare's exploration of human emotions, portraying love, deception, and rivalry in a contemporary setting. It begins with a powerful depiction of the human existential crisis, examining the dichotomy of good and bad, and how society provokes these internal conflicts. The trailer sparks conversations about love, jealousy, and ambition in today's world, delivering a profound message on the concept of truth and challenging our conventional understanding. The film features a stellar cast including Arna Mukhopadhyay, Anirban Bhattacharya, Sohini Sarkar, Ditipriya Roy, Mimi Dutta, Arpan Ghoshal, Kaushik Banerjee, and other important cast – crew members. Arna Mukhopadhyay, the Director and the Actor breathing life into Dr. Athhoi Lodha (Othello), shared his thoughts, "'Athhoi' is a labour of love that has taken years to bring to fruition. With this trailer, our aim is to delve deep into the complexities of human emotions and present a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's timeless tale. Through this film, we hope to evoke profound emotions and reflections." Anirban Bhattacharya, who plays Gogo (echoing Iago from Shakespeare's original work) and serves as the Creative Director, expressed his sentiments, "We were clear from the beginning on how to create this Shakespearean world.     Hoichoi to give 2017’s most successful film Posto a world digital premier even before it airs on TV

    Kolkata, November 23, 2017– Hoichoi, the world’s largest digital Bengali entertainment content platform, announced today it has acquired exclusive digital rights of Posto, the most successful Bengali feature film of 2017. Posto will be the first Bengali movie ever to receive, on Hoichoi, a world digital premier before a satellite TV premiere, and will start streaming from November 24.

    This path-breaking initiative from Hoichoi will provide Bengali movie makers a robust additional pipeline of movie loving Bengali diaspora across the world, for whom this comes as extremely welcome news, as they have so far had to remain deprived of many Bengali movies because most have a weak or no international theatrical release.

    Hoichoi has already created huge buzz in the Bengali entertainment industry with the launch of a slew of engaging Original web series and shorts, and the acquisition of the Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy directorial venture Posto is set to further disrupt the industry.

    Posto, which grossed more than Rs. 5 crores within 4 weeks of the release, received critical acclaim from the film fraternity. Posto, portrayed by Arghya Basu Roy, is a little boy raised by his grandparents (Soumitra Chatterjee and Lily Chakraboty) in Shantiniketan, a small town in Birbhum district, West Bengal. Posto’s parents (Jisshu Sengupta and Mimi Chakraborty) who are settled 200 kms away in Kolkata, visit their son only on weekends.

    Trouble erupts when Posto’s father gets a new job offer outside India and plans to take Posto along with him. Posto’s grandparents are against the decision and the argument finally drags the kid into the courtroom.
