Kolkata, 14th April 2018 – SVF’s Aami Ashbo Phirey, which released on 13th April, is a film about 7 lives dealing with emotions through 7 songs written by Anjan Dutt and composed by Neel Dutt. The main base of the film is about the rape of a young girl, something that needs to be highlighted and spoken about now more than ever.
To mark the release of Aami Ashbo Phirey, SVF along with Wow! Momo organised a never-experienced-before midnight jam in the heart of Kolkata’s Park Street where Anjan Dutt, Neel Dutt and Amyt Datta performed live. Anjan Dutt spoke about the terrible situation in our country due to the Asifa incident that shook the nation. A one-minute silence followed. Initially, the concert was supposed to comprise of 7 songs from the album, but instead, the trio chose to dedicate 3 additional songs to Asifa and her family.
“Aami Ashbo Phirey Music Tour” is creating waves among music lovers and romantics of the city. The music tour started off this February, with the album launch of the film at Hard Rock Café followed by performances through March at Jadavpur University, Presidency University, iLead Institute, IIEST Shibpur, South City Mall and many more places.
Directed by Anjan Dutt, Aami Ashbo Phirey showcases how songs of an unknown, unheard, young songwriter accidentally enters these stories through the virtual media and changes the lives of the characters for the better. The film takes the audience on a surreal musical journey, creating a reminiscent factor about the father-son duo returning to weave magic on screen together after 11 years. It stars Anjan Dutt, along with Swastika Mukherjee, Anjana Basu, Darshana Banik, Koushik Sen, Anindya Chatterjee, Sauraseni and others.
Overwhelmed by the response received from melophiles across the city, Anjan Dutt said, “The crowd at the Aami Ashbo Phirey Music Tour establishes the fact that music is still an integral part of our lives and it helps heal any form of pain, which forms the crux of our film. I am grateful to Wow! Momo and Team SVF for organising a midnight jam – that too, on Park Street, and that I got a chance to address a serious issue spoken about in my film.”
