What convinced Saurav Das to play a negative role?

His short but important role in the recently released Finally Bhalobasha was well noticed and now Saurav Das is gearing up for some more challenging roles. The actor is looking forward to a couple of releases — Sweater and Wrong Number — next month. “The first look of Sweater was released a couple of days back and it was well-received. My character has grey shades and drives the thriller’s plot. At first, I was not really convinced of playing the character. Then once I decided there was no looking back,” said Saurav, adding, “While shooting I got to learn a lot. The filmmaking style is quite similar to the way smart flicks are made in Bollywood.” Though Saurav was floored by the work on the set, his initial hesitation was not because of any reservation against playing a grey character. Rather, he was looking forward to a new challenge. “It was not that I didn’t want to play a negative role. I was hesitant because I didn’t feel I had enough screen time. So, I was in two minds about doing the role at this point in my career,” he said, adding, “But once I had a word with my director I was more than eager to come on board. The way they had visualised the film is awesome. I’ve seen the trailer and the rough cut and I must say it was a good decision to do the film.”

The actor has already signed two other films and is also awaiting another release.
