In the series, Paap, which is streaming exclusively on hoichoi, inspector Monojit (Rahul Banerjee) is curious about the history of Baikuntha Choudhury’s house and tries to decode each family member. His aim is to ascertain who committed these ‘paap’ (murders) in the house, leaving everyone baffled. Here’s what he has gathered:

Parboni (Puja Banerjee): She’s a renowned item dancer from Bollywood who has a mysterious relationship with all men in the house. She arrives at the house suddenly, and immediately, someone is murdered.

Baikuntha Choudhury (Rajat Ganguly), head of the family: He is possessive about his family members. His unpleasant past returns to haunt him when a series of murders happens in his house.

Sharoda Choudhury (Shonali Gupta), Baikhuntha’s wife: She’s a traditional housewife, who is protective about the family’s tradition and secrets. But she hates Parboni.

Bulu (Ananya Sengupta), eldest daughter: Like her mother, Bulu is very protective about her family. She displays an aggressive behaviour, has a sharp tongue and can go to any extent to guard her family’s secrets.

Tia (Solanki Roy), youngest daughter: She loves to win the hearts of her family members, sometimes going an extra mile for them. She’s also the sole support for her youngest brother, Choton, who is schizophrenic.

Dhiman / Bablu (Indrajit Chakraborty), eldest son: He has an ugly attitude and a disturbing past. He seems to fear his wife, but isn’t too expressive about his feelings.

Bidisha (Roopsha Dasguupta), Dhiman’s wife: She’s a typical modern wife, who is curious about the mysteries in the house. She keeps suspecting her husband and interrogating him.

Srimanto / Tublu (Bhaswar Chatterjee), second son: He has an unpleasant past like the others, is secretly perverted and often instigates his elder brother.

Sneha (Priyanka Mondal), Srimanto’s wife: She’s Bidisha’s friend and is often plotting with her. She seems unaffected about her in-laws or the incidents in the house.

Prosun /Choton (Shaheb Bhattacherjee), youngest son: He’s schizophrenic, but a poet who is fond of Parboni. But something in his past keeps him disturbed.

Labanya (Mithu Chakraborty), Baikuntha’s sister: She is orthodox and never really likes the good things in life. Criticism is part of her nature and this irks most in the household.

Who is the murderer? Will Monojit get to the bottom of it or will it take another season of Paap for him to find the answers?
