Do you know how much time Prosenjit Chatterjee used to take to get ready for his character in Srijit Mukherji’s Gumnaami? Well, hear it from the actor. “Each day, the prosthetic makeup for my character used to take me four hours and it took another few hours to get it off! But the outcome was worth the time. We shot at all the locations in north Bengal, Ayodha and Lucknow, which Gumnaami Baba visited or stayed in. We were shooting at places where the temperature was 52 degrees! But the whole team was so engrossed in the film that the heat too didn’t bother anyone,” the actor told us. He went on to add that it has been an experience of a lifetime for him. “I’m sure that once the look is out, it will take people by surprise. This time, I couldn’t post any pictures on social media from the shoot, as that would mean revealing the look,” the actor told us from Lucknow airport.
The shoot, which was supposed to get over on Wednesday, was done by 4 am on Tuesday morning. “Srijit was super cool on the sets this time. It was quite a stressful shoot, as the subject was not so easy. I must say Soumik (Haldar) has done a brilliant job. People say we are a trio — Srijit, Soumik and me — who have never disappointed our audience,” added Prosenjit, who had earlier tweeted a picture of the three of them and written, “Autograph, Baishe Srabon, Mishawr Rawhoshyo, Jaatishwar, Zulfiqar, Yeti Obhijaan and now Gumnaami. Hum ‘saath saath’ hai (sic).”
Srijit Mukherji’s film revolves around on a mysterious sadhu who lived in Faizabad and many believed him to be Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose in disguise.
