Thriller seems to be the lucky charm for director Srijit Mukherji. After Baishe Srabon and Chotushkone, the director has just started shooting for his third thriller, Dwitiyo Purush, and is quite optimistic about it.
On Saturday, the second day of the shoot, Srijit told us that the first two days have been extremely productive for the team and he is very happy with the output. “Since this one is an action thriller, we spent the first two days mostly shooting fight sequences. The energy of the entire unit is very high,” he said. Action director Javed Karim is helming the fight sequences.
In 2011, Srijit’s Baishe Srabon had struck the right chord with the audience. And after eight years, Srijit is working on its sequel, which has the tagline, ‘Baishe Srabon er por… Dwitiyo Purush’. “I do not want to reveal much about the film, but we are really hopeful about the whole project,” said the director, adding that most of the shoot will take place in Kolkata itself.
Dwitiyo Purush will see actor Parambrata Chattopadhyay reprise the role of police officer Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen will be once again seen in the character of Amrita. There will also be a couple of new characters who are essential to this spin-off and keep the interest levels high. Srijit said their names will be revealed when the audience will least expect it.
