Dev to star in Dhrubo Banerjee’s period drama

Dhrubo Banerjee has just dropped a massive hint about his third film after ‘Guptodhoner Sondhane’ and guess what the main attraction is! It’s none other than Dev and to add a cherry on top of it, SVF will bankroll the project.

Keeping in sync with the traditional Bangaliyana and following the historical traits like his last two films, Dhrubo’s story is inspired by real-life incidents from the period of Bengal renaissance. Sounds exciting right!

This film will also mark Dev’s return to SVF after the 2017 blockbuster ‘Amazon Obhijaan’. For years, they have ruled the commercial space of Bengali cinema and now the hit jodi is set to weave magic yet again.

Camera will start rolling from winter 2019 and the period film will release in summer 2020. Rest of the cast and crew hasn’t been decided yet.

Mahendra Soni, co-founder and director of SVF says: “We are sure just like Dhrubo’s earlier films, this one will set the box office roaring!”

Meanwhile, Dhrubo Banerjee expressed his excitement saying: “This has been a dream subject that could only come alive with Dev and SVF together! I am so excited that they both agreed without a second thought reinforcing my confidence in good content for cinema”.

Speaking about the film, Dev said: “It’s always a pleasure working with SVF. Dhrubo is extremely talented when it comes to direction & script selection. I am fortunate to get this role & will try my level best to give my best for this Magnum Opus.”
