One of the surprises in Durgeshgorer Guptodhon is designer Abhishek Roy. He has not only designed the clothes for the treasure hunt film, but is also playing a negative character in the film apart from being part of a couple of fight sequences.
Talking about his first acting experience, Roy said that it was decided that he would be designing clothes for the film. But in the process, director Dhrubo Banerjee requested him to play one of the characters. Without describing the character much, Roy said, “I was not at all ready to play the role, but Dhruboda said that he wouldn’t get a man with my kind of looks in Kolkata and wanted me to do it. So, I had to agree”. His shoot mostly took place in Shimultala and Jhargram.
Roy has designed costumes for the entire film, which includes more than 10 characters. “There is an elaborate Durga Puja sequence in the film and I had to make Puja costumes for almost all the important cast members. It was a lot of fun to work for this film,” he said, adding that he is not thinking of taking up acting as a career at this moment.
Durgeshgorer Guptodhon is the sequel of Guptodhoner Sondhane. Professor Subarna Sen aka Sona Da (Abir Chatterjee) will be seen visiting one of his students’ ancestral mansion in Durgeshgor. Accompanying the history professor will be Abir (Arjun Chakrabarty) and Jhinuk (Ishaa Saha). There, the trio join in the festivities and stumble upon the lost clues that may lead them in unearthing one of the greatest treasures of Bengal. Dhrubo Banerjee has already assured that there will be a fourth instalment of this series.
