This Puja will see at least six releases. Among an array of releases is Anindya Chattopadhay’s Manojder Adbhut Bari. While the teasers of Ek Je Chilo Raja and Kishore Kumar Jr have already released, Anindya Chattopadhay has come up with an unique concept of promoting his film. In a clip released online, two characters, detective Borodachoron and assistant Chakku, can be seen at a telephone booth. Borodachoron (Bratya Basu) is talking over the phone with none other than Byomkesh Bakshi. He tells Byomkesh that he too is coming this Puja to win audiences’ hearts. He tells the sleuth that the competition should be fierce else there’s no fun. It is implied that Byomkesh gets nervous and hangs up. Now, that’s a unique way to promote a film! ‘Manojder Adbhut Bari’ is based on the popular novel of the same name written by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay. The thriller sees Abir Chatterjee playing the long-lost prince Kandarponarayan of Horingawr who becomes a key member of a dacoit gang. It also stars Soumitra Chatterjee, Sandhya Roy, Bratya Basu, Shilajit and Sohag Sen in the lead.
