‘Biday Byomkesh’ poster: Abir Chatterjee’s surprising octogenarian look creates buzz

After playing a young detective Byomkesh Bakshi in films such as ‘Abar Byomkesh’ (2004), ‘Byomkesh Phire Elo’ (2014), ‘Byomkesh Bakshi’ (2015), ‘Har Har Byomkesh’ (2015) and ‘Byomkesh Parbo’ (2016), Abir Chatterjee is all set to play the roles of both a 70-year-old detective and his grandson Satyaki in Debaloy Bhattacharya’s next spin-off ‘Biday Byomkesh’. To intensify the craze surrounding this upcoming thriller, the makers have now released the first look poster. It features Abir as the octogenarian Byomkesh and fans can’t believe it’s their favourite actor in the poster.

The story sees an aged Byomkesh on a mission to solve the mystery behind his son’s sudden disappearance. His grandson Satyaki plays his sidekick to find out the truth. Interestingly, Satyabati is no more in this film but actress Sohini Sarkar, whom we have seen as Satyabati in earlier Byomkesh movies, will essay a key role in ‘Biday Byomkesh’. Apart from Abir and Sohini, this film also stars Joy Sengupta and Bidipta Chakraborty in key roles. The film will go on the floors soon.
