‘Adventures Of Jojo’ bats for wildlife conservation

    Nov 5, 2018 Publication : TNN

In the end, it’s a bullet for the man-eating tigress of Yavatmal, Avni. Death pounced on her swiftly at the hands of a private hunter Ashgar Ali on Friday. No wonder that the controversial hunt attracted a worldwide attention as dedicated conservationists and tiger experts watched in horror and opposed the decision to gun down the tigress which left two cubs. It ended as tragically as it was everybody expecting. It has created uproar with so many petitions flooding the internet criticizing the Maharashtra government’s decision. Like many other film personalities across India, Bengali filmmaker Raj Chakraborty too raised his voice against killing the tigress.

The renowned director replied to a tweet showing his concern about tiger poaching and the latest scenario of wildlife conservation in India. He also revealed his next film ‘Adventures Of Jojo’ speaks against tiger poaching.

“Absolutely second your thought, as we are releasing an #Indian #Bengali #cinema during #christmas #adventuresofjojo a #children oriented cinema, focusing against a #tigerpoaching and #wildlifeconservation creating an awareness among the people worldwide,” said Raj.

Joshojit Banerjee, son of popular television actor Joyjit Banerjee will be seen in the titular role in this movie which revolves around the exciting journey of how a little kid gets trapped into the magical world of the jungle and befriends the animals. The story ultimately focuses on poaching and how Jojo beats the poachers to set an example. ‘Adventures of Jojo’ also has Rudranil Ghosh and Padmanava Dasgupta in pivotal roles.
