    ‘Aaj differentiates my film from Tagore’s Ghare Baire’

    Aparna Sen’s Ghawre Bairey Aaj, starring Jisshu U Sengupta, Anirban Bhattacharya and Tuhina Das, is inspired by Rabindranath Tagore’s Ghare Baire. “Aaj is the operative word that differentiates my film from Tagore’s iconic tale. His novel is about the political turmoil of the outside world that impacts the intimate interior space of two friends — Nikhilesh and Sandip — and a woman, Bimala, who drives a wedge between them. Despite being politically polarised, Nikhilesh and Sandip’s friendship flourishes.
