Raj Chakraborty’s ‘Adventures Of Jojo’, the only children’s film to release this Christmas, brings forth themes of adventure, fantasy, friendship and wildlife conservation woven in the same story. As children’s films becoming fewer in Bengali cinema, this one has opened to a great response at the box. People already wondering whether there will be a franchise of ‘Adventures Of Jojo’. After all, who doesn’t love jungle adventure!
When Raj was asked about the same, he said it depends on the box office success of this film. “It actually depends on the commercial success of ‘Adventures Of Jojo’. Let’s see how the film works at the box office. But I would love to make a sequel. It’s my dream project. The sad part is there are many filmmakers who want to make children films but they don’t get producers.”
He also believes the USP of his film lies in its simple ‘bangaliana’ and it will foster the love for adventure, forests and wildlife among the kids. The film, bankrolled by SVF, follows the experiences of two friends Jojo and Shibu against a notorious gang of poachers trying to kill a Tiger named Genghis Khan. The two friends, essayed by promising child actors Jashojeet Banerjee and Samiul Alam even risk their lives to rescue the tiger from the clutches of the poachers.
The film has been extensively shot in Dibang Valley of Arunachal Pradesh and a small portion in the Chapramari jungle of North Bengal.
