A dizzying suspense thriller with edge-of-the-seat exciting moments, director Mainak Bhaumik’s Bornoporichoy is the story of Dhananjoy and Arko. While the former has lost everything, the latter has nothing to lose. The duo are locked in a gripping cat-and-mouse chase that becomes an adventure of good vs evil. Both are different sides of the same coin. Their lives are intertwined and they find a sense of purpose in each other. Abir Chatterjee and Jisshu U Sengupta are facing each other in a lead role for the first time in this film.
“Jisshu and I are always pitted against each other in real life and it continues in this film too. People consider us competitors, but our competition is restricted to the screen. Our objective is to make a good film. Moreover, at this age, we both have our share of responsibilities and we like to focus on that. My character, Arko, is a simple schoolteacher who loves kids, but there is a hidden insanity in him. I can’t reveal why and how,” said Abir.
Jisshu, who plays Dhananjoy, said while Arko is fighting his outer demons, his character is busy fighting inner demons. “Arko knows how Dhananjoy’s mind works and vice versa. What we don’t know is who each of us is from within,” added Jisshu.
Bornoporichoy’s gripping background score is by Indraadip Das Gupta, while music and songs are by Anupam Roy. While Arijit Singh’s Bishonno Chimney evokes melancholy, Anupam’s Protibeshi shows how Arko and Dhananjoy’s lives are intertwined. The title track is by Dibyendu Mukherjee. “The theme-based background score has been designed keeping in mind the film’s thrill element,” said Indraadip. Anupam said the film’s album has an urban soundscape.
Bornoporichoy, produced by SVF, releases nationally today.
