Srijit’s third Kakababu film to be shot in Kenya, South Africa Kolkata, Dec 26 (PTI) National award winning film director Srijit Mukherjee will bring the fictional adventurist character Kakababu, conceived by popular Bengali poet-writer Sunil Gangopadhyay, again on the big screen in 2019.
The film, adapted from ‘Jangoler Moddhe Ek Hotel’ from Gangopadhyay, will be shot extensively in the forests of Kenya and South Africa and is scheduled to go on floors soon, Mukherjee told PTI Wednesday.
Bengali film superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee, who had essayed the lead in the earlier two films of Kakababu (Mishwar Rahasya and Yeti Obhijaan), will be enacting the role of Kakababu again.
“He said the film will be largely shot in Masai Mara Park during May-June when the area is frequented by wild animals. We will do everything to impart the natural feel of wild life in the work,” Mukherjee said.
About making more children’s films, Mukherjee said, “I will sure undertake more work for children. I always love to work with children who are natural actors and uninhibitive.” Chatterjee posted in twitter, “Kakababu and Santu are
coming back for you all in 2019 puja.”
The actor said when contacted, “I am looking forward to the shoots. I always want to portray Kakababu on screen. And it is always a great experience to work with Srijit.”
