If you are already in love with the first song ‘Hariye Jawar Gaan’, Here is something more to cheer. Yet another soulful song from Srijit Mukherji’s much-anticipated ‘Uma’ has been released. The latest track ‘Aaloshyo’, sang beautifully by Surangana Bandyopadhyay and composed-written by none other than Anupam Roy, is a soft, soothing track. The video of this latest song featuring Sara and his father Jisshu Sengupta offers a slice of Uma’s life in the film. Watch the video song here:
Srijit’s film is a heart-touching story that revolves around a struggling father who is willing to go to any extent to fulfill his terminally ill daughter’s dream. Out of desperation, he plans to create a false Durga Puja before its usual time to give his sick daughter the taste of the festival before she dies. ‘Uma’ will see the debut of Jisshu’s daughter Sara. The film also features Anjan Dutt, Srabanti Chatterjee, Sayantika, Anirban Bhattacharya and Rudranil Ghosh.
Uma is inspired by a true incident involving a Canadian boy Evan Leversage. Speculation is rife that Nicole Wellwood, Evan’s mother, will be present in Kolkata for the special screening of Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Uma’ on June 1, 2018. According to reports, Nicole was initially skeptical about ‘Uma’ when Srijit approached her, as she was then still recovering from the shock of her son’s death (Leversage passed away on December 6, 2015).
