Srijit Mukherji’s Uma has successfully completed 75 days at the box office and the team is on cloud nine. The film, that was declared a superhit and is still running in theatres, has already travelled to prestigious film festivals abroad and received positive response. It is inspired by the remarkable story of Evan Leversage, a terminally ill boy from St George in Ontario, Canada, where the townsfolk came together to celebrate an early Christmas for him because doctors feared he might not live till December. Said an elated Srijit, “Given the huge spate of releases and limited number of halls and lack of footfall, it is difficult for a film to complete even three to four weeks properly. It is a matter of great delight that Uma completed 75 days in Bengal. We are grateful to the audience for making it one of the biggest BO successes of this year after the series of festival laurels.”
