The lead cast and crew of Gumnaami, SVF & director Srijit Mukherji’s Pujo release, came together for the first time to celebrate the spirit of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at Simla Bayam Samity, the Durga Puja helmed and nurtured by none other than the great leader himself.
Gumnaami, based on the Mukherjee Commission Hearings is a magnum opus that takes us through the various theories on the death and disappearance of one of the greatest freedom fighters of British India – Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Actors Prosenjit Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, TnusRee Chakraborty, singer Ishaan Mitra and Srijit Mukherji were present along with others to interact with the public and media. This was the first time the teaser and trailer of Gumnaami has been showcased to the common audience on a public forum.
Talking about the film Srijit Mukherji said, “Inspite of numerous challenges, legal hassles and altercations, our film Gumnaami is releasing this Pujo and I thank my audience for the love and support they have bestowed upon our film. I have received several phone calls, emails, messages and tweets with positive words of encouragement, and I look forward to the release this 2nd October.”
Gumnaami is scheduled to release in both Bengali and Hindi. The music used in the film is the original soundtrack by INA & DL Roy and has been rearranged by Indraadip Dasgupta.
