Srijit’s film Uma hits the right notes with the song ‘Jaago Uma’

The heart-touching story of Srijit Mukherji’ s next, Uma, has begun its journey on an auspicious note and is sure striking the right chords among fans. From being selected at international film festivals to its music making the right noise, Uma has created quite a buzz. With the hit trio of Anupam Roy, Rupankar and Srijit back together, a few lines of Jaago Uma in the teaser is believed to be giving goosebumps to the listeners. After popular tracks like Gobheere jao, Amar maute and Shetai shotyi, the triad is all set to make another chart-topper. “When I was editing the trailer, there were requests and feedback from people around to include the song Jaago Uma in it. From what little they could hear, people are already telling me that they feel this song will make a difference to the film. However, I will suggest that wait for the other four songs because I know this will be Anupam’s finest album since Chotushkone,” shared Srijit.

Inspired by the true story of Evan Leversage, a Canadian boy diagnosed with a terminal illness, Uma features Sara Sengupta whose character is fighting a terminal disease and is brought up in Austria. She is brought to Kolkata by her father Himadri, played by Jisshu U Sengupta, to fulfil her dream of arranging Durga Puja at home.
