Designer Sharbari Datta’s Durga Puja collection for women was unveiled at her store Shunyaa. Top city models glided in the store dressed in elegant sarees, lehengas and showcased the collection. Red, blue, cream, beige was some of the colours which dominated the colour scheme of the collection.
Apart from this collection launch, a Durga Puja special chat was organized which was attended by Arindam Sil and Abir Chatterjee representing Byomkesh Gawtro and Anirban Bhattacharya and Jisshu U Sengupta representing Ek Je Chhilo Raja.
Byomkesh Gawtro is based on Sharadindu Bandopadhyay’s story Rakter Daag. Abir Chatterjee will be seen as Byomkesh with Arjun Chakrabarty playing Satyakam, Anjan Dutt as Ushapoti, Rahul Banerjee as Ajit and Sohini Sarkar as Satyabati.
Ek Je Chhilo Raja is based on the Bhawal Sanyasi story. Jisshu U Sengupta, Jaya Ahsan, Anjan Dutt, Aparna Sen, Rudranil Ghosh, Anirban Bhattacharya, Barun Chanda, Rajnandini Paul will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.
“As is evident from the look in the poster, this time Byomkesh is more agile and different than Byomkesh you have seen till now. This film will also be one of the most cinematically beautiful Byomkesh films as we have shot in Mussourie. We have shot both in crowded and not so crowded places. This will be a visual treat” said director Arindam Sil.
Abir highlighted on the fact that this is the first time that a Byomkesh Baksi film is releasing during the Pujas. Though there will be other films, he also highlighted on the fact that the audience will have more choices. Moreover the films releasing during the Pujas fared well.
Jisshu who plays the central character in Ek Je Chhilo Raja spoke at lengths about the hardships that he had to bear to suit him for the role. “We had to shoot in extremely cold temperatures. That was a troublesome bit for me as my character wore minimal clothes in the film. Moreover we had to shoot behind a burning dead body. That smell haunted me for days” said the actor.
Anirban meanwhile highlighted on the court room scene shooting when Aparna Sen and Anjan Dutt faced one another. “That was a visual delight for me. I was watching two veterans acting. It was like I was attending an acting class. Srijit however used to tell us often that we must close our mouths as we too were in the scene” said Anirban.
Arindam Sil also highlighted on the fact that till now he and Anjan Dutt used to do Byomkesh films and people compared their films and thought they were competing with one another. But with Anjan Dutt acting in Byomkesh Gawtro, that has been nullified.
Both the films are eyeing for release on 12th October and have already been garnering great response from the audience.
