Shagufta Rafique on her directorial debut ‘Mon Jaane Na’

Bollywood script writer Shagufta Rafique who has a number of hits in her kitty like ‘Woh Lamhe’, ‘Raaz- The Mystery Continues’, ‘Jism 2’, ‘Jannat 2’, ‘Ashique 2’ and ‘Raaz 3’, is all geared up for her directorial debut with Bengali romantic thriller ‘Mon Jaane Na’.

While elaborating on the film, starring Mimi Chakraborty and Yash Dasgupta in the lead, Shagufta says she has tried to bring in freshness to a typical love story. “It’s like old wine in a new bottle. I haven’t churned out any unusual story instead I brought in my own take and freshness to the story. I believe the audience will love it and the audience will be able to relate to the story,” explained Shagufta.

The film starts with a cute love story of married couple Amir and Pari played by Yash and Mimi respectively. Filled with innocent love, their simple living seems to be a heavenly affair. But one shocking incident changes their lives forever. Amir becomes a Gangster and Pari turns into a drug addict. Will their love survive all these hardships? That’s what forms the crux of this film.
