Raima Sen, who will soon make her Tamil debut with ‘Agni Siragugal’ has already completed shooting for Srijit Mukherji’s next ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ along with Parambrata Chatterjee and is pretty much excited about this sequel. She believes this one will also have the similar effect on cine buffs just like it did during ‘Baishe Srabon’.
“The look of Amrita is a little mature, as the story takes place eight years since the events of Baishe Srabon. Param reprises the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi. ‘Baishe Srabon’ changed the way thrillers were perceived by the Bengali audience and I’m sure Dwitiyo Purush will have a similar effect on the audience. Srijit is a master when it comes to thrillers,” said Raima.
While the upcoming thriller will see Parambrata Chatterjee and Raima Sen reprising their roles, Anirban Bhattacharya, Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Gaurav Chakrabarty are the new joiners in the ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ cast.
The story of ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ will commence from where ‘Baishe Srabon’ had left off and will see Parambrata reprise the role of chief detective Abhijit Pakrashi and Raima Sen bring back her character, Amrita. Produced by SVF, it’s scheduled to release on January 23, 2020.
Following the success of his first film ‘Autograph’ in 2010, Srijit’s ‘Baishe Srabon’ was a heady cocktail of thriller, violence, music along with Bengali poetry. Probir Roychudhury’s bitterness and angst couldn’t have been essayed out better than Prosenjit, whose character seemed to be a far cry from the one in ‘Autograph’s mighty yet vulnerable superstar. Prosenjit stunned everyone with his performance as an ex-cop in this psychological thriller directed by Sriji Mukherji.
Prosenjit’s remarkable acting was highly acknowledged by both the critics and audience. ‘Baishe Srabon’ eventually became one of the highest grossing films of 2011.
