Oriplast Originals is all set with its third episode which has been launched on SVF Music today. The melodious feel-good number called Baundule, sung by Shaan and composed by Bollywood music director, Arko is a mix of folk-reggae which brings out a distinctive style, not popularly used in film music. Arko has also lent his voice along with Shaan in the music video establishing their first collaboration which will bring together two artistes of contrasting musical styles.
The literal translation of Baundule is vagabond. The lyrics of the song denote the denouncing of materialism, basically, a satire on our social structure.
Jubilant on working with Arko in Oriplast Originals, Shaan exclaimed, “This is the first song for Arko! I’ve been a silent admirer of his work and when he made me hear Baundule, I was totally floored. Absolutely loved the free-flowing composition, the folk reggae vibe and the lyrics! Arko is a genuine talent and he allowed me so much freedom to express myself. (I) had a great time singing with him. My best wishes with Oriplast Originals and SVF Music!”
Arko, who is equally happy about the song getting a platform like Oriplast Originals, said, “It’s my first association with SVF music and I am glad to be a part of Oriplast Originals which is Bengal’s biggest music collaboration ever. Baundule, my first song in this season, is special in many ways. First, it’s the essence that is completely different from usual Bollywood or Tollywood tracks. Second and importantly, Shaan! Composing for him and singing along with him is really very special and something I wanted to do for a long time.”
Arko has made his name in Bollywood for giving music in more than 30 films including Nazm nazm from Bareilly Ki Barfi, Allah wariyan from Yaariyan, Aaj phir tumpe pyar aya hai from Hate Story 2 among others.
Spearheaded by SVF and Ori-Plast Limited, Oriplast Originals is the biggest Bengali music collaboration with 16 artistes from all over India along with seven composers. They have joined hands to create Bengal’s first branded original content bringing forth 10 songs in season one to pipe hot music into our playlists.
