New achievement for Srijit’s Uma | Jiyo Bangla (Canadian Press)

Director Srijit Mukherjee’s much-awaited movie Uma received a rare honour even before the film’s commercial release.

The film stars Jisshu Sengupta and his elder daughter Sara Sengupta in the lead roles for the very first time. The movie has been selected for 3 prestigious film festivals – Indian Film Festival of Alberta, London Film Festival and New York Film Festival. Director Srijit took to his Twitter account to disclose this great news.

The film Uma revolves around a young girl who is fighting a terminal disease, a father’s struggle to make his daughter’s dream come true and how they celebrate their ‘make-believe’ Durga puja.
