Madhumita Sarcar and Vikram Chatterjee start shooting for their first film together

Madhumita Sarcar and Vikram Chatterjee have started shooting for their next film ‘Kuler Achaar’, directed by Sudeep Das and this is the first time the two are pairing up. It’s an out-and-out family drama that is not only women-centric in its narrative but also puts effort into upholding the true nature of bond and affection a family should ideally share.

‘Kuler Achaar’ is a tumultuous ride that tells a story revolving around the willingness of a lady to keep her maiden surname and the comedic yet poignant complexities that revolve around the idea. Madhumita returns to the big screen to tell the story of Mithi, a young woman who is determined to not change her surname after marriage. Vikram Chatterjee will be seen playing the role of Pritam who is Mithi’s supportive and liberal husband.

Speaking about her character in the film, Madhumita had earlier said, “My character Mithi Roy is an outspoken, confident and independent girl who speaks her mind and is ready to face the consequences of doing so. Mithi gets married into the Sen family. Whether she will change her surname to Sen is what this film is all about.”

Indrani Haldar is also making a comeback to the big screen with this family drama after a hiatus of almost five years.

She plays Madhumita’s mother-in-law and according to the narrative, her character holds an extremely strong position in Mithi’s life. Meanwhile, Neel Mukherjee will be seen as Mithi’s father-in-law.
