This June Celebrate Durga Puja with Srijit Mukherji’s Uma

Every year a Srijit Mujherji movie comes with Durga Puja but this year Durga Puja is coming with a Srijit Mukherji film. Yes its time to celebrate Durga Puja in June with Srijit Mukherji’s latest this Friday release Uma. This is the most emotional film so far, directed by Srijit which revolves around the emotional bonding of a father and daughter. A father creates the whole environment of Durga Puja in summer to fulfill the last wish of his daughter who is suffering from terminal desease and do not have much time left to wait till October to see Puja. It is based on a real life incident of Evan Leversage from Canada for whom the whole environment of Christmas had been recreated in October. Here Srijit has changed the festival to Durga Puja.

The film features real life father daughter Jisshu Sengupta and his daughter Sara Sengupta as reel life father and daughter. Sara is going to make her debut with this film. From the trailers it looks like she is going to make a sparkling debut. Also it features Anjan Dutt, Rudranil Ghosh, Srabanti Chatterjee, Sayantika , Babul Supriyo, Anirban Bhattacharya, Sujan Mukherjee, Abhijit Guha, Ambarish Bhattacharya in significant roles. Apart from that, there are many special appearances from various actors which is an added attraction. The film has already traveled to various International film festivals before its theatrical release and everywhere it has been well received. It has been directed by Srijit Mukherji so there is obviously huge expectation from the film. All the songs composed by Anupam Roy is already a big hit. Plus the film has been promoted extensively. All these factors have generated very much positive pre-release buzz for the film and that will help it to secure a huge opening. Hopefully the film will live up to the huge expectations.
