In 2013 two of Sohini Sarkar’s films, ‘Phoring’ and ‘Rupkatha Noy’ released in the same month. Now the actress has three films – ‘Bidaay Byomkesh’, ‘Happy Pill’ and ‘Crisscross’ set for their release this month. While Debaloy Bhattacharya’s ‘Bidaay Byomkesh’ hit theatres on July 20, Mainak Bhaumik’s ‘Happy Pill’ releases today and Birsa Dasgupta’s ‘Crisscross’ is slated for an August 10 release.
Sohini is feeling the pressure and thinks it would have been easy if the films’ releases were spaced out. “The only good thing is in all three films I play characters that are completely different from each other. In ‘Bidaay Byomkesh’ I am in a double role, ‘Happy Pill’ sees me as a Journalist and in ‘Crisscross’ I will be playing an oppressed housewife. The promotional events create more trouble. There are so many events. So I usually keep a note on all the promotional plans. Earlier promotions were not that serious. It has changed now,” the actress said.
