Young composer Amlaan Chokroborty is super-excited about his forthcoming release — Ke Tumi Nandini. Directed by Pathkrit Basu, the film stars Bonny Sengupta and newcomer Rupsha Mukhopdhyaya. Rupsha, who started out from television, is making her debut in the movie. About his end-April release, Amlaan said, “O Mon, which just released recently, has been lapped up by music lovers. The song is trending at Number 3 on YouTube. Written by Prasen, the song is rendered by Ishaan Mitra and Trisha. It’s an out-and-out romantic song.”
The album has five songs and each is different from the other. “The first song that released was a folk number, Kanya Re, sung by Ishan and Trisha. The lyrics of the song were penned by Prasen and Debayan,” he explained. As per the brief given to him, the songs have a rural touch to them. “The film is set in a district and obviously then, the songs can’t give out an urban feel. I have used lots of instruments to make the songs sound different. In fact, it’s a very different soundscape,” he said. Amlaan added that three more songs are yet to come out. “One among them is the song, Projapati. Prashmita (Paul) has sung it and it’s a pop number. Then there’s a sad song, O Re Pora Mon, which is rendered by Raj Burman and Trisha. Last but not the least, there’s another number, Ishq Khuda Hai. Mumbai-based singer Raju Das and Ishaan have sung it. The female voice for the song is yet to be decided,” said the composer.
