Srijit Mukherjee’s much-anticipated film ‘Vinci Da’ sees Sohini Sarkar as a sweet and positive-spirited Jaya, the love interest of the protagonist Vinci Da (Rudranil Ghosh) in the film. Sohini, who has mastered the act of playing layered characters over the years, is elated to get to play a character like Jaya, a sweet and simple girl. According to her, Jaya is someone who is very straight and always has simple things in her mind.
When asked how she prepared for the role of a stammering girl, Sohini said:“Actor who portray stammering characters are often criticized, like this is too much or it’s not right. Basically, stammering has no such grammar. I have seen different people who stammer in completely different notes. Some stammer when they are too excited,
some even stammer in way that you won’t be able to understand anything. Srijitda helped me a lot during the preparation. Also, I used to watch many videos of people who stammer. I just kept in mind it won’t be a caricature.”
Produced by SVF and also starring Anirban Bhattacharya, Ritwick Chakraborty and Riddhi Sen in pivotal roles, the thriller is set to release on April 12.
