Fans urge Srijit to make one thriller each year

Srijit Mukherji’s latest release ‘Vinci Da’ has hit the box office bull’s eye. While his previous two thrillers ‘Baishe Srabon’ and ‘Chotushkone’ were more cerebral in plotting, structure and treatment, ‘Vinci Da’ is an emotional journey of human psyche.

It seems Srijit and Thrillers go hand-in-hand given the past record and recent success. It feels great to see the seasoned director has kept the thriller element intact till the last scene. You would understand if you have already seen the film. In fact, Srijit continues to receive requests from fans urging him to make at least one thriller each year.

Recently, the director had shared a picture with Rudranil Ghosh, Anirban Bhattacharya and Ritwick Chakraborty and revealed how ‘Vinci Da’ is ruling the box office. He wrote: “Housefull at 5 places. 85% at 2. FOURTH week? Bengali film? Audience hain toh mumkin hain. Thank you for all the love. #VeniVidiVinciDa

That’s not all, ‘Vinci Da’ had to battle with two big giants at the box office – ‘Kalank’ and the most anticipated ‘Avengers Endgame’. Srijit is happy to see his film is still ruling the audience hearts. “Because of Kalank we got a 5-day first week instead of 7. Plus the Avengers film and other new releases also took a few shows away. Still, the love we received from the audience is unbelievable,” said an elated Srijit.
