Nine years ago, Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Baishey Srabon’ became a sensation. Now almost a decade later, he is back with its spin-off ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ that seems to traverse more dangerous territories. The much-anticipated thriller, produced by SVF, is set to release on Thursday (January 23) and ahead of the big release here’s a piece of big news for the fans.
‘Dwitiyo Purush’ has received an uncut U/A certificate from the censor board. Announcing the news, Srijit wrote on Twitter: “Though I would have been happy with an uncut A, delighted to announce that the CBFC has given an uncut U/A certificate to #DwitiyoPurush since the ‘graphic violence and extreme language has been properly contextualized.”
The film will start from where ‘Baishey Srabon’ had left off and we will get to see Parambrata Chattopadhyay reprising the role of detective Abhijit Pakarashi and Raima Sen will relive her character Amrita, Abhijit’s love interest. Also, Abir Chatterjee will be returning with his role of Surya in a special appearance.
The trailer had earlier introduced some new interesting faces. Like, Anirban Bhattacharya surprised everyone with his new look of Khoka, who is synonymous to violence. So is the character played Rwitobroto Mukherjee as he comes out of his boy-next-door avatar to deliver a fearsome image.
