At every film shoot, there are these quirky or funny incidents that remain etched on the minds of all those who were part of the team. In Guptodhoner Sandhane, for instance, food played a very important part on the sets. And that was all thanks to Arjun Chakraborty’s food-loving character in the film, Abir. “This aspect of the film was particularly liked by the audience and many asked me to retain that essence in the second part of the series,” director Dhrubo Banerjee told us. In Guptdhoner Sandhane, Arjun was seen savouring a number of Bengali delicacies, including luchi, pulao, macher muro and more. Asserting that the romance with food will continue in the sequel, Dhrubo said, “A variety of food items will be seen in Durgeshgorer Guptodhan too. And I’m sure this will add a new flavour to the film for our Bengali audience.”
The director also revealed that the dishes were not only used for the shoot, but were also relished by the cast and crew after the day’s work! “It’s unbelievable that there are so many excellent cooks in Bengal! And the surprising part is they don’t belong to big hotels, but can still prepare almost any dish asked of them,” Dhrubo said, adding that that the film was shot during winter in Jhargram and that it was more of a picnic than a shoot.
Durgeshgorer Guptodhan, which is the sequel to Guptodhoner Sondhane, will have the same star cast. That means Abir Chatterjee will return as Sonada, the energetic history professor, and Arjun Chakraborty and Ishaa Saha will be seen his close associates.
Dhrubo revealed that there would also be a third film in the series.
