Srijit Mukherji is keeping rather busy. The shoot of Ek Je Chhilo Raja, wrapped up in February and the dubbing for the same has started. Featuring Jisshu Sengupta, Aparna Sen, Rudranil Ghosh, Anjan Dutta, Anirban Bhattacharya and Sreenanda Shankar in pivotal roles, the story of this ambitious project of Srijit is based on Partha Chatterjee’s book ‘A Princely Imposter’, and also draws a few references to the court case of the infamous ‘Bhawal Sanyasi’. The story about Bhawal Raja revolves around a court room case, where he appears 12 years after being declared death, and claimed his property. The role of the Raja will be essayed by Jisshu Sengupta.
Speaking of the dubbing, director Srijit Mukehrji said, “Whenever I dub, I realize there are two kinds of actors. One, who make you wish that sync sound technology was available and affordable in this industry. Such is their spontaneous brilliance and organic performance. Two, who make you thankful that the dubbing process exists. Where I can help them elevate their performance by unimaginable proportions. Both Anjan Dutt and Rudranil Ghosh fall in the first category.“
The film that is slated for a Puja release, has already created a buzz on social media given it’s interesting poster design.
