It’s yet another feather to its cap as ‘Durgeshgorer Guptodhon’ recently completed 100 days at the box office. The treasure hunt drama, after its May 24 release, has been running successfully with a total of 6000 shows across Bengal and 294 shows nationally.
Speaking about the box office century, director Dhrubo Banerjee can’t hide his excitement: “My first film Guptodhoner Sondhane had completed 75 days at Box Office and my second film Durgeshgorer Guptodhon completed 100 days at Box Office and is also a blockbuster. Achieving this feat with only two films is like a dream for any new filmmaker and I’m thankful to my audience who accepted this film with open arms!”
‘Durgeshgorer Guptodhon’ stars Abir Chatterjee, Arjun Chakraborty, Ishaa Saha in the lead while Anindya Chatterjee, Kharaj Mukherjee, Koushik Sen, Lily Chakraborty and Arindam Sil among others playing pivotal roles.
After the huge success of the first treasure hunt film ‘Guptodhoner Sondhane’ last year, Dhrubo Banerjee returned with the second installment of the franchise ‘Durgeshgorer Guptodhon’. Professor Subarna Sen, aka Sona Da (played by Abir Chatterjee) a history professor, along with Abir (Arjun Chakraborty) and Jhinuk (Ishaa Saha) this time visits one of Sona da’s student’s ancestral house in Durgeshgor.
The great grandfather of this student was an erstwhile zamindar and a renowned artist. There is a myth runs in this Debroy family that they once had a massive treasure, but all traces and trails of it have lost. Sona da with Abir and Jhinuk, visit the mansion in Durgeshgor during Durga Puja and stumble upon the lost clues which may lead them to discover one of the greatest treasures of Bengal.
