Despite being on vacation, Srijit Mukherji refuses to miss a single success story of his latest film, Vinci Da. The film that released on April 12 had consecutive houseful shows in Nandan and the director is on cloud nine. “Till last Sunday, it was 22 consecutive days of houseful shows. Nandan is a big auditorium. It seats almost 1,000 people. And getting houseful shows is quite a thing, I guess,” Srijit told us.
Soon after its release, the film was running at 1.30 in the afternoon. After two weeks, the show time got changed to 3.45 pm. “I got news till Sunday. Out of these 24 days, May 1 was a holiday and on May 3, the show got cancelled for Fani. Rest of the days were all houseful,” the director said.
Vinci Da stars Ritwick Chakraborty, Rudranil Ghosh and Anirban Bhattacharya and Sohini Sarkar in lead roles. Rudranil is a regular in his films and the actor has also penned the story with Srijit. This will be his second film with Sohini, who was part of his Rajkahini, and Ritwick, who was in Nirbaak. Srijit has already announced another film with Sohini — the biopic of heptathlete Swapna Burman, who made the country proud by winning gold in the Asian Games. All praise for Sohini, Srijit said he has seen her mature as an actor over the years. Anirban, on the other hand, was part of his last three films — Uma, Rajkahini and Ek Je Chhilo Raja. Apart from acting, Anirban also made his singing debut with Shah Jahan Regency.
