Bornoporichoy is an actionpacked good vs evil thriller

Mainak Bhaumik’s Bornoporichoy is an action thriller that studies the grammar of death. The film features Abir Chatterjee and Jisshu U Sengupta for the first time, with the duo having a nail-biting face-off with loads of action sequences. The duo will make women go weak in the knees with action on fast cars and racing bikes. The action sequences were shot very realistically. During one such shoot, the entire stretch of Lake Road was jam-packed with people trying to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.

Mainak, Abir and Jisshu credit the power-packed action sequences to Bollywood action director Sunil Rodrigues, who choreographed the sequences. While Jisshu had worked earlier with Sunil, known for his work with Rohit Shetty, this was the first time that Abir worked with him.

“This is my first Bengali film and I loved working in it. I gained a few kilos during the project, as I lived on biryani and sweets! Both Abir and Jisshu are flexible actors and did the fight sequences with ease. I was impressed by how Jisshu carried off the bike stunts and how Abir jumped from the eighth floor of a building without a body double. The action sequences were designed keeping in mind that it’s a good-versus-evil film.”

According to Abir, Sunil is very methodical and technically sound and made the action sequences look easy. “Sunil makes you feel confident. It was an exciting experience for me and I can vouch for the action sequences. They are much more edgy than other films,” he added. Mainak said the chase or action sequences add visual dynamics to a thriller. “That’s where Sunil comes in. He’s a skilled action director who has the ability to get things done fast and make them look realistic,” said Mainak.

Jisshu revealed that Sunil had told them that in Simmba, Ranveer Singh shot the fight sequence in four days. “We completed the entire shoot in 18 days! He was shocked to know that we can complete an entire film in such a short span. He trained us exceptionally well to perform the stunts in minimum takes,” the actor signed off.

Bornoporichoy, produced by SVF, releases on July 26.
