Arjun and Madhumita the best thing happened to ‘Love Aaj Kal Porshu’: Pratim D Gupta

The day we got to see the first poster of Imitiaz Ali’s much awaited sequel to ‘Love Aaj Kal’ starring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan, Pratim D Gupta gave his own version, the ‘Love Aaj Kal Porshu’ official poster and it looked like a lot of love in the winter air!

The film, produced by SVF, is a sublime tale of two people where ‘love’ is seen as an instinct that can never change no matter how much life changes. Beside the lead pair of Arjun and Madhumita, the film also stars Paoli Dam and Aninidita Bose. Pratim’s film will hit the theatres on February 14 celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Ahead of its release, Pratim remains tight-lipped about the plot of the film. “It’s very difficult to talk about the film without giving the story away. Let me just quote from a song I love… “Woh jo adhoori si yaad baaki hai”. My film is about the remains of a love story. We become different people with time but something stays inside us from our past relationships. My film celebrates this natural instinct of love and how it can bloom in many forms.”

He further adds the combination of Arjun Chakrabarty and Madhumita Sarkar is the best thing happened to ‘Love Aaj Kal Porshu’. “I always wanted Love Aaj Kal Porshu to be a young love story, a story that can look, feel and sound real and honest in 2020.” He adds, “Arjun and Madhumita are the best things to have happened to this film. As a director, the responsibility multiplies manifold when you are working with new and young actors. And I really enjoyed this responsibility. Both of them are keen to shine. It is not just another film for them. They have given their all. Climbing mountains, swimming rivers, whatever it took,” said the director showering praise on Tollywood’s new jodi.
