Kolkata: Eminent filmmaker Aparna Sen is all set to adapt Ghare Baire for the big screen. The film, produced by SVF, is likely to release later this year or early 2019.
The new adaptation is tentatively titled Ghawre Bairey.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of an event in the city today, Aparna Sen said, “The story of Ghare Baire is more relevant in the current times and I plan to adapt it in the present day context.”
Rabindranath Tagore and Satyajit Ray are in our DNA, Aparna said, adding that she had thought of adapting the novel for quite some time now.
