Akriti Kakar, Shaan, Sona Mohapatra and others join a 10-song line-up!

It’s an interesting concept. Shree Venkatesh Films and Oriplast Limited join hands to curate an original 10-song line-up slated to stream from July 19. Oriplast Originals is the first of its kind programme and is being touted as the biggest musical collaboration of Bengali music ever. It aims to bring talent from all over India to Bengali music.

Tapping into genres such as Baul-Trap, Bihu, rap, classical and even new-age pop, Oriplast Originals explores a completely new and original soundscape. It boasts of big names in its repertoire, including Papon, Shaan, Sona Mohapatra, Anupam Roy, Javed Ali, Ash King, Akriti Kakar, Shalmoli Kholgade, Nikhita Gandhi, Bhoomi Trivedi, Dev Negi and others, along with composers like Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Subhadeep Mitra and Anupam Roy. Visualised as a studio format, the songs will have Bengali music in the foreground and will derive inspiration from other parts of India such as Assam, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Shot in Mumbai by some of the country’s leading technicians, the show features the most popular and influential talent from all over India, on the platform of SVF Music. The first season will stream from July 19, exclusively on the YouTube channel of SVF Music. The aim is to make the nest season even bigger and better!
