Abhijit Chowdhury on his series ‘Subharambha’

The World Premiere of Churni Ganguly’s National Award winner and critically acclaimed film Tarikh has been announced by hoichoi as it releases its poster on its social media. The film will be exclusively released on the streaming service, starting May 8th.

Directed and written by National Award-winning director Churni Ganguly, Tarikh revolves around three friends – an idealist, a realist and a conformist. Tarikh is about the circle of life that looks into the lives and beliefs. The stars featuring in the film include Saswata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Ritwick Chakraborty and Kaushik Ganguly amongst others.

Along with the Jury Special Mention Award at the 24th Kolkata International Film Festival, Tarikh won the Best Dialogue at the 66th National Film Award. At the Los Angeles Film Awards 2019, it also won Best Indie Feature of 2019, Best Narrative Feature, Best Song and at the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival 2019, it bagged the Best Editor, Best Actor (Female), Best Screenplay award. Additionally, Tarikh was also the official selection at the BRICS Film Festival 2019, Brazil.
