Durgeshgorer Guptodhon, the second film of the Bengali treasure hunt franchise, directed by Dhrubo Banerjee and starring Abir Chatterjee, Ishaa Saha and Arjun Chakrabarty in the lead, completes 100 days today. “My debut film, Guptodhoner Sondhane, made it to 75 days. Durgeshgorer Guptodhon made it to 100 days — what more can I ask for from my audience? The way the audience has welcomed Sonada and made him popular is unbelievable,” said the director.
He added, “t proves that content is king. It brings the audience, from eight to 80, to the theatres. I hope we can gift the audience with such content that draws them back to the movie halls. I remember how my sister and I used to look forward to watching a film along with our parents at a theatre. So, that trend has to come back to revive the Bengali cinema industry.”
Durgeshgorer Guptodhon follows Subarna Sen, aka Sonada, a professor of history, along with Abir and Jhinuk, who decide to visit the ancestral mansion of one of Sonada’s student’s at Durgeshgor. . The great grandfather of this student was an erstwhile zamindar and a renowned artist of Bengal. There is a myth that runs in the family that they had once had a massive treasure, but all traces and trails of it has been lost. Sonada, along with Abir and Jhinuk, join a festivity in that mansion in Durgeshgor and stumble upon lost clues that lead them to unearth one of the greatest treasures of Bengal.
