Another festival laurel for ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’

While his upcoming ‘Gumnaami’ is making headlines every single day ahead of its October 2 release, Srijit Mukherji’s 2018 blockbuster ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ also continues its festival run. It’s now an official selection at the 28th Heartland International Film Festival at Indianapolis. This is the film’s 7th official selection at an international film festival along with its 16 state, national and international awards.

Srijit made ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ a unique one with a good subject, nice cinematic pace and some extraordinary performances. The subject and acting part needs special mention.

Also, the grandeur and aura of the particular British colonial period is superbly built up with the profound production design and Indraadip Das Gupta’s amazing music. It’s actually the strength of the performances, especially from Jisshu Sengupta, Jaya Ahsan, Anirban Bhattacharya and Rudranil Ghosh, that made ‘Ek Je Chhilo Raja’ a blockbuster in 2018.
