The quest for true love begins
Anjan Dutt played the perfect host at the premiere of his film, Finally Bhalobasha, held recently at a city multiplex. The director, who also acted in the film, courteously told the media to wait for his bytes as he was busy ushering in the guests. Aparna Sen, who was the first to arrive, told us, “I love Anjan’s acting and direction, so here I am to watch this film. And I know how he can extract the best from his actors.” Sen, while appreciating Mamata Shankar’s neckpiece, told her, “Join the grandma club,” after hearing she had become one recently. Photographers couldn’t stop clicking when the trio — Aparna, Anjan and Mamata —were having a hearty chat.
Suprobhat Das, whose role in the film has been appreciated by many, said he felt that the scolding he got on the sets from the director only helped him perform better. When we asked him if ‘finally bhalobasha’ has happened in his life, he said with a laugh, “The love, rather romance, you are hinting at hasn’t happened yet in my life. But I feel love can even happen between friends and parents. And if that is considered, then finally bhalobasha did happen to me long back.”
Sauraseni Maitra, who is suffering from an eye problem, came to the premiere with her parents. “I can’t even blink, but still I did eye makeup as I have to look good. Added to that I am all nerves about how people would like my performance,” said the actress, who looked ravishing in a red dress. “I am just 22. So, finally bhalobasha hasn’t happened to me yet. I have fallen in love, but am yet to find my man,” she added.
When we finally asked Anjan about his definition of love and if finally bhalobasha has happened to him, he said, “Love to me is friendship or connection between two souls. I’m still searching for love and I guess it comes through pain.”
