Most of us who love to binge on cinema are to some extent skeptical about the remakes of cult classics. Srijit Mukherji has already ventured into that specific genre with his modern take on ‘Nayak’, ‘Antony Firinghee’ and ‘Sansayi Raja’. And now it’s time for Shankar’s classic novel ‘Chowringhee’ which gets a brand new adaptation with ‘Shahjahan Regency’ after the 1968 classic ‘Chowringhee’. The much-anticipated trailer is finally out and it triggers quite a lot of intrigue. You would see so many snippets in the video and that would tempt you to ask loudly – Why? Abir Chatterjee donning Sata Bose and Parambrata as fine Shankar raises the expectation bar. But do you know what stays back the most even hours after watching the trailer? It’s the lovely background song that plays throughout the trailer.

Featuring all the protagonists like Parambrata Chatterjee, Swastika Mukherjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Abir Chatterjee, Anirban Bhattacharya, Mamata Shankar and Anjan Dutt among others, Srijit brings another nostalgic ride down the memory lane.
